Since we launched in 2023, our mission has been simple: help homeowners access Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) rebates for energy-efficient home upgrades. From heat pumps to electric stoves, these incentives make it easier and more affordable to replace outdated appliances with modern, energy-saving technology.
That mission hasn’t changed—but our name has.
FreeHeatPump.com is now MyNewHeatPump.com.
Why the Name Change?
When the IRA was first passed in 2022, the $8,000 heat pump rebate was expected to cover the full cost of installation in some cases. However, as labor and material costs have risen, it has become clear that “free” isn’t an accurate reflection of what homeowners can now expect. While rebates still provide significant savings for all homeowners, some upgrades may require out-of-pocket investment.
We believe in transparency and trust—so we’re updating our name to reflect that. MyNewHeatPump.com better represents how we:
- Help homeowners maximize available rebates
- Navigate both federal and state incentives
- Connect customers with qualified, vetted contractors
- Make the transition to energy-efficient appliances easy and affordable
This change ensures that every homeowner we help understands exactly what to expect from the rebate process.
What Rebates Are Available?
The Inflation Reduction Act Home Energy Rebates offers up to $14,000 in total incentives to eligible homeowners upgrading to energy-efficient appliances. These rebates include:
- Up to $8,000 for a heat pump for heating and cooling
- Up to $4,000 for an electrical panel upgrade
- Up to $1,750 for a heat pump water heater
- Up to $840 for an electric stove, cooktop, range, or oven
- Up to $840 for a heat pump clothes dryer
These incentives help lower the upfront costs of switching to more efficient systems—resulting in long-term savings on energy bills.
Who Qualifies for IRA Rebates?
Not all homeowners qualify for the full IRA rebates, but many can still take advantage of savings. Eligibility is based on household income and area median income (AMI):
- Households earning less than 80% of their area’s AMI qualify for 100% of the available rebates
- Households earning 80-150% of their area’s AMI qualify for 50% of the available rebates
- Households earning above 150% of AMI may not qualify for the point-of-sale appliance rebates but can still apply for whole-home efficiency upgrades, federal tax credits, and state or local incentives

More Ways to Save with Federal and State Incentives
One major benefit of the name change? We can now help homeowners tap into an even wider range of incentives beyond the IRA.
Through MyNewHeatPump.com, we:
- Combine federal, state, and local rebates to maximize savings
- Find tax credits and utility incentives available in your area
- Streamline the process so you can rest easy knowing all available incentives have been applied to your project.
Even if the IRA rebate doesn’t cover 100% of the cost, stacking multiple incentives can dramatically reduce your overall investment.
